IIRD's main focus has been holistic development, especially of rural regions, and we understand that development cannot be achieved in isolation i.e. both women and men are required to play an essential role in ushering prosperity at all the levels.
Therefore, IIRD has always made it a point to cultivate an environment where our employees have ample facilities and equal opportunities, irrespective of their gender, to succeed in life. This fact was did not escape the attention of Global Compact Network India (GCNI), New Delhi, as the organisation awarded IIRD with the "Innovative Best Practices Awards, 2019, for ‘Women at Workplace’" in the category of Non-Government Organisation (NGO) sector.
IIRD's efforts in promoting the idea of Gender Equality under the United Nations' Goal Number 5 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs) was the key factor in winning this prestigious award.
