IIRD frequently collaborates with GAIL India to partake in developmental activities all over India so that the society and people can benefit in various ways. One of the many projects that the two organisations have been working on is the construction of washrooms in Karnataka's Chitradurga schools. With better sanitation facility, schoolchildren are able to have a healthy environment and an opportunity to learn without any hurdle or health issues. Making toilets available to the students, specifically young girls is also important to ensure a safe environment for them. This project will ultimately be able to reduce or even completely eliminate the school drop out rate and tackle the health issue which is often caused due to lack of hygienic environment.
