With the fast-paced progress and development of cities, it has become a losing battle for the authorities to maintain cleanliness and also make people aware of the importance of keeping the surroundings clean. To support this monumental task, IIRD collaborated with GAIL India Limited to install twin bins in the cities of Ambala, Chandigarh, Bengaluru.
In this project, 1,265 dustbins were commissioned, installed which were customized into Twin-Bin dustbins to create awareness regarding the disposal of garbage separately according to solid and liquid consistency. Additionally, the objective of the project was to disseminate the message of sanitation and cleanliness among the public, along with educating the general public about the need for separate garbage collection, environmental and health complexities of proper waste management.
