IIRD has been working constantly to improve the educational infrastructure for schoolchildren so that learning-teaching can be more impactful not merely an empty process. To achieve this aim, IIRD collaborated with GAIL INDIA LIMITED to set up Digital Smart Classrooms in 60 Government Schools of Assam's four districts - Barpeta, Kamrup (Rural), Darrang, and Kokrajhar.
IIRD worked as the implementing agency to shoulder this project under the CSR domain to support child-friendly educational technology services to improve the quality of education.
The project is going to create a more immersive way of imparting education while also familiarising the students at a very young age with technology, paving a way for Digital India through better understanding, while also preparing the children for a bright and successful future.
