While working towards rural development, IIRD has always made it a point to cultivate an environment where our employees have ample facilities and equal opportunities, irrespective of their gender. This effort of ours was duly noted and appreciated by Global Compact Network India (GCNI), New Delhi, as they awarded IIRD the "Innovative Best Practices Awards, 2019, for ‘Women at Workplace’" in the category of NGO Sector. IIRD's efforts in promoting the idea of Gender Equality: Goal No. 5 of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs) was the key factor in winning this prestigious award. The award ceremony was held on March 1 at TC Sheraton Hotel, Saket, in New Delhi with IIRD's Dr L.C. Sharma (MD), Mrs Sushma Sharma (Director), Ms Mehreen Iqbal, Mrs Reeta Verma, and Brig. VK Khanna and RK Singh, in attendance, to accept the award.
